How Do You Achieve More Luck In Your Business?

by: Shad Bookout

We have all expressed it and we have all asked for it. “Good Luck” is one of the most common affirmations expressed, yet we know so little about what it really means. Countless notable authors and poets have spent connecting the wishes of the hopeful to the factors of luck and circumstance. But luck is not a result of things that just happen. Luck is a skill set, and, just like any skill, it can be learned, developed, and honed. Luck is not something that happens. Luck is something we make happen. So, in your business, what are you doing to increase your own opportunities for luck?

Preparation to Succeed – In order to have great luck you have to set the stage for it. Increased luck comes from creating increased opportunities for success. this derives from ensuring that all necessary steps to succeed have been taken. When failure is not an option, luck will naturally reveal itself.

There is No “Bad” Luck – You cannot be victorious 100% of the time. There will be setbacks, failures, and inevitable disappointments. These are not the result of bad luck, but the outcome of a series of events (many of these were even out of your control). Embrace the learning opportunities that these provide. Create a world where yesterday’s consequences led to the lessons of today and result in being better prepared for tomorrow.

Create “We” Confidence – Self confidence is key, but that does not mean arrogance is a good thing. Luck can be derived from helping those around you have confidence too. Build up those around you, so you can create a collective of confidence. When your positive energy mixes with all of that positivity around you, you will be amazed at the great things that can happen.

When All Else Fail – When it seems that that the stars refuse to align in your favor no matter how much preparation, learning, and confidence you provide, then there is only one thing left to do. At this point the best luck is derived from “fake it till you make it”. Never give up. Never surrender. Sometimes, luck simply needs a little push to help it on its way. If you rock on like luck is already present, then luck will naturally be energized to find you.

Remember, luck is less about what happens to you and more about what you allow to happen to you. How are you creating better conditions for luck in you brand? Let us know in the comments.
