How Unique Is Your Brand?

This week is the annual Strategic Planning Retreat for our Postal Solutions and PackageLog teams. During these meetings, we will discuss many of the things that have helped drive our amazing growth over the past few years. As part of this, each day we will share one of the “core values” that helps focus our goals and inspires us to provide excellent service with our outstanding customer service-oriented brands.

Core Value 3: Being Unique

Very few people have ever uttered the phrase, “I love generic, boring stuff”. For everyone else, finding something unique and special is a big deal. This goes for apartment shoppers as well. However, many apartment communities fail to stand out in the minds of those people looking to find a new place to live.

All you have to do is look at all the ads listed in apartment locating publications and online listings. Nearly all of them claim the same basic amenities, leaving price and location to determine their viability as an apartment shopping option. Common terms like large floor plans / closets / rooms, wall-to-wall carpeting, apartment with a view, state-of-the-art fitness center, and poolside wi-fi dominate the advertisements. If all apartments are offering the same thing, what inspires a prospect to consider living in a place that is generic?

Also, the customer service that is generated from the customized and personalized messages helps your reputation stand out. In addition, the live-time resident retention components make the lifestyle of your residents stand out.  By standing out and being unique (not just another apartment), it is more likely that prospective residents will notice you. As an added bonus, you are likely to retain more residents who currently live there.
